Strengths Finder and Teamwork

1. Look at what you agreed with on what the Strengths Finder said you were like, and tell me how that can contribute to good teamwork.

I think that my strengths would contribute to good teamwork because they mainly focused on learning, communicating and acting. These strengths help with teamwork because I am able to comfortably work with a team, speak my mind, but also respectfully learn and take input from other people, as well help put thoughts into actions.

2. Look at what you agreed with from the Strengths Finder summary of you, and tell me what about yourself you will have to keep an eye on to make sure you do not compromise the work of your team.

I will definitely have to keep an eye on my “activator” strength. In the description of “activator” it says “they can make things happen” however it also highlights “they are often impatient” which is something I struggle with. Working with a team, I’ll have to work on patience and accepting that I cannot solve this alone and in one day. It will take time, and it will take a village.

3. Reflect on what you think of as good Leadership, and give an example of a strategy or trait you would value in a team Leader that  would capitalize on one of your strengths, and help you be a good team member.

A good leader is someone who is open to learning, they are a good communicator and can lead their team to accomplish great things. I think what I value most in a leader is when they can admit that they are wrong, or do not know something and do something about it. I love having so much information available to me and just straight up learning new things. So if a leader were able to find a task where I could research or teach others about something I know about, I think that would definitely help me be a good team member.

My strengths : Learner, Input, Activator, Connectedness and Communication.
